‘I really like this’ – Steve Lamacq, BBC Radio 6

Information

Alien Chicks are a Brixton based post-punk power trio, whose music explores a whole mix of genres including jazz, rap, bossa nova, and math rock. Their songs are a surreal social commentary packed with punchy rhythms and eclectic time signatures. Their youthful charisma, humour, passion, and sense of fun make for an addictively energetic live show.
Only a year and a half into being a band, they have gained a buzzing grassroots following, always playing to packed crowds, and have sold out the Windmill Brixton alone 11 times. They have had radio play from Jack Saunders (Radio 1), Steve Lamacq, John Kennedy and Tom Robinson from BBC Radio 6 and Honor Morrison from BBC Introducing, and press coverage and playlist adds from The Independent, Hard of Hearing magazine, ASBO magazine, Vocal Girls Club, Get In Her Ears, as well as many more naming them ‘Ones to Watch’ for 2023.
Alien Chicks were named ‘one of the most talked about bands’ at The Great Escape 2023 by Rodeo magazine, and as ‘one of the bands at the heart of London’s DIY underbelly’ by DIY in this month’s NEU feature.
April saw their first big tour, which finished with a sold-out headline at The Lexington. They have supported Warmduscher, Opus Kink, Fat Dog, Medicine Cabinet, Been Stellar, and more. In Autumn 2023 they will be releasing three singles and their debut EP. They are headlining the 100 Club in November, and going on a big UK tour and playing their first EU dates as well as Left of the Dial festival in Rotterdam.
